If you plan to give a gift for which you could not find a box suitable in size or shape, you can do it yourself. This master class describes one of the easiest ways to make a beautiful gift box. For it, cardboard, Whatman or other thick paper that holds its shape is suitable. For registration you will need a braid or ribbon.

- ruler;
- a pencil;
- paper in a cage;
- scissors;
- breadboard knife;

Step 1
First you need to determine the size of the future box. To do this, measure the gift. I have it - a scented candle in a bottle. We need to know the size of the bottom of the box and its height.
We measure the bottom of the candle. For this candle, a box with a bottom of 6x6 cm is suitable.
We measure the gift in height. Here, the height of the box will be 11 cm. Please note: you need to add 1–2 cm to the size of the gift so that the box is not close to it.
Step 2
To make it easier to work, it is better to first draw a template for a box on squared paper. This will allow you to comply with all right angles and make an even box. If there are not enough sheet sizes, glue a few.
In the center of the sheet, draw the bottom of the box.In our case - a square of 6x6 cm.
To each side of the bottom add the walls of the box. Their height is 11 cm.
To one of the walls on top we add a part of the lid: it is equal to the bottom part, 6x6 cm.
Finally, add valves. We need 2 valves on two long parallel sides of the box, plus a valve on the cover. To keep the lid better, if the paper is not very thick, you can add two more of the same valve on the two free sides of the lid.
Cut out the pattern.
Step 3
Circle the pattern on the wrong side of the cardboard.
Cut the workpiece - it is convenient to do this with a breadboard knife on the ruler.
Mark the fold lines from the inside out, drawing the blunt side of the knife along the ruler along them.
Fold the workpiece along the marked lines.
On all valves except the cover valves, apply glue and glue the box so that the valves are inside.
When the glue dries, you can put a gift in a box.
Step 4
Now the ribbon with which the box will be tied. First, determine the length of the tape we need. Wrap the box with ribbon twice, leave the long ends on the bow and cut the ribbon to the desired length. Cut the ends obliquely and secure with fire matches or lighters.
To bandage the box, first fold the ribbon in half and place its middle section on the box lid.
Wrap the box with ribbon, cross the ends of the ribbon at the bottom, bring them up and tie a bow. Done.
