Final of Fashion Start 2015

On October 11 at 17:00 on the territory of Flacon Design Factory the final of the Moscow contest of designers of clothes, shoes and accessories Fashion Start 2015 will take place.

Five semi-finalists (Maxim Maximov, Daria Privalikhina, Dina Agzamova, MaryMary, Into) will present their collections. After that, 3 finalists will be selected by general vote: 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. The winners will be awarded with show business stars and famous fashion persons. The host of the finale will be a famous blogger, fashion historian and founder of the Material Culture project Tim Ilyasov.
Recall that the finalists have come a long way before being on the podium with the stars of Russian fashion! In total, 148 applications were submitted for participation in the competition from July 1 to August 20, 2015, and the jury selected 20 of the best designers in absentia. The first in-person qualifying stage of the competition was held on August 28: the participants made presentations of their collections to the jury, experts and mentors, only 10 participants went to the next round. From August 31 to September 18, designers completed 3 tasks, after which only 5 semi-finalists remained.
The main difference between Fashion Start 2015 and all previous competitions is that the winner receives not just a prize, but the opportunity to develop and “package” his brand.

The winner will get:

• first VIP ticket to a business incubator,
• personal coaching from experts,
• Professional photography
• organization of free participation in markets and shows in Russian cities,
• an opportunity to conclude an agreement with sewing production, online and offline stores,
• interviews and media publications.

Two finalists of the competition will also be included in the first pilot project of a fashion business incubator. In total, it is planned to attract up to 20 participants to the first stream, most of which it was decided to “close” with projects from the first stream of the Fashion Start 2015 contest. Participation in the incubator will be free for everyone, the course is designed for 4-5 months.

Teachers and organizers

Teachers of the incubator are Russia's leading experts in the field of fashion and business. Organizer and ideologist of the competition Evgenia Zagorodnaya:
“We look forward to the final. During the contest, the participants managed to gain a lot of experience and knowledge, felt the importance of planning and calculations. As we expected, young designers showed a lack of business knowledge, creative universities do not prepare the guys for life, and "They don’t learn how to build their brand. Therefore, our prizes and training in a business incubator turned out to be very relevant. We hope that our future projects will be able to change the Russian fashion industry for the better and make it attractive to investors."
