Knitted dresses, pullovers, tops are the most popular products. And this is understandable - the clothes are more convenient simply does not exist!
Today, fashion is the simplicity of silhouettes - “nothing more!”, And sexy tight products, including many drapes, pleats and ruffles. With a wide belt, you can emphasize the waist by wearing a simple "baggy" knitted dress. Volumetric collars and large patch pockets, large buttons, abstract prints, any length - your imagination this season is not limited by any prohibitions. Long pullovers are worn as dresses with leggings, and large scarves and capes replace traditional pullovers and sweaters. In addition to this, knitwear is allowed to be combined without restrictions with other fabrics - from light translucent chiffon and lace to thick tweed or fluffy fur.
SELECTION
There are different types of knitted fabrics for both summer and winter - jersey, openwork and embossed knitted fabrics, velvet on a knitted basis, knitted fabrics with terry or brushed wrong sides, etc. Knitted fabrics are elastic and soft to the touch, wear them convenient and comfortable.
SEWING
Sewing products from knitted fabrics is quite simple, but the following rules are required.
Details of cutting are sewn in a narrow zigzag stitch (stitch width 0.5-2 mm, stitch length 3-4 mm). All modern sewing machines perform special elastic stitches for knitted fabrics, but, of course, an overlock sewing machine is ideally suited for these purposes.
A special knitting needle with a rounded end is inserted into the sewing machine, which does not pierce the fabric, but gently pushes its loops.
Slices of cut details are sewn in a zigzag stitch with a large stitch or processed on an overlock sewing machine.
If the sections are very easily stretched, a transparent adhesive tape (Tesafilm) is glued along them and the stitch is laid close to the inner edge of the tape, and then the stock is cut along with the tape along the line.
A golf collar and a narrow neckline are sewn in, slightly stretching.
Bending of the bottom will remain elastic if you adjust it with a double needle of the sewing machine, while on the front side of the product two parallel straight lines are obtained, and from the wrong side - an elastic zigzag stitch.
Manually hem the bottom is sewn with a free "velvet" seam, while the upper edge of the hem is turned inwards by 0.5 cm.
If the seam in the finished product should not be stretched, for example, the shoulder seam, then when sewing the slices, an oblique inlay is seized.
On allowances along the neck and arm sections, a line is sewn with a chain stitch along the marked seam line or a sewing tape made of non-woven fabric or a slanting inlay made of thin adhesive non-woven fabric (non-woven form band) is ironed over the seam line. In places of rounding, the tape must be cut.
The edges of the fastener are reinforced with an adhesive pad.CARE
Washing
Always read the directions carefully and look at the symbols on the product label. Woolen clothes are best washed separately. Before washing, it is advisable to turn the knitwear inside out.
If you are not sure, it is better not to wash the knitwear in a washing machine, although many types of modern knitwear are unpretentious and can be washed in a gentle mode in warm (up to 30 °) water. When washing by hand, do not twist the product, and do stretching movements only in length and not in width, in addition, do not rub the jersey so that the spools do not appear on the surface.
Use detergents that do not contain bleaches, bioadditives (enzymes), alkalis and their compounds, as well as colored granules. Before washing, dilute the detergent in water and never pour it directly onto the product. A hair shampoo is perfect for washing knitwear.
Knitwear is best washed in soft water. If tap water is very hard, add some baking soda to it. Do not wash jerseys in hot water, as a result of which they lose elasticity, sit down and fall off.
Never boil or soak for more than 10 minutes knitwear from woolen, artificial and synthetic threads, as well as light knitwear with color or hot-melt patterns, with volume printing and embroidery.
If the product has inserts made of leather or fur, it is better to give it to dry cleaning.
To prevent the edges from stretching, lay a stitch along them with long straight stitches with neutral colored threads, and remove the basting after washing. Do not wash for very long. After washing, rinse the product in warm and then cold water. Do not neglect this operation, so that there is no detergent left in the knitted fibers, which can spoil the color of the product during drying. A special liquid can be added to the last rinse water, which will remove static electricity and make the product more fluffy.
Press knitwear very carefully, without twisting. When spinning in a centrifuge, wrap them in a terry towel.
To refresh the color and to get rid of the smell of sweat, wool products can be rinsed in a solution of soda (1 table. Spoon in 5-10 liters of water). To make the paint more stable, rinse them in a solution of acetic acid (1 tablespoon of a 3% solution in 10 liters of water). To make fewer pellets appear on wool products, rinse them in a glycerin solution (1 table. Spoon per 10 liters of water).
Drying after washing
Never dry knitwear in a tumble dryer, near heating appliances, or on a rope or the back of a chair.
Wrap the wet thing first in a towel, then wring it out, and then lay it on a dry towel on a flat horizontal surface, or hang on special hangers.
The dried product can be lightly steamed with an iron.Cleaning
Most jerseys can be dry cleaned.
Grease stains from wool should not be removed with bleach. It is better to rinse them 2-3 times in mustard infusion. Prepare it as follows: in a small amount of water, grind a glass of mustard to a state of liquid gruel. Then strain through cheesecloth into warm water and let it brew. Ironing
Iron the knit from the wrong side with a moderately heated iron (no more than 110 °) through a wet iron or in steaming mode.
Coarse knitwear is best steamed with an electric steam iron from the wrong side, trying not to touch the sole of the iron to the surface of the product.
Never iron relief patterns with steam: they will become flat.
If the knitwear is slightly “hooked,” try restoring it to its original shape by gently stretching and steaming through a damp cloth.
Storage
Keep jerseys horizontal, neatly folded. Do not put heavy things on them. Never hang knitwear in a closet on ordinary coat hanger.
In a box where wool products are stored, put a means of protection against moths.
Peeling
Jerseys often form “spools,” a process called peeling. One type of knitwear rolls quickly (for example, woolen), the other more slowly.
You can remove the spools using a special machine or a double-blade shaving machine.
